PRISM's standard reports are good, but customizing them can be a bit challenging.

Great Flexibility
Pros

What I like about the product is its flexibility. The numerous group codes offer plenty of options, and the integration of cost and schedule is seamless.

Cons

Although the standard reports are functional, they could use a more modern look. Additional dashboard options in the standard cost module would be beneficial.

Ares PRISM software Event& Review
Pros

The support from the software team is excellent, and working with the Ares team is enjoyable. The software itself is accurate and perfect for maintaining total control over large projects.

Cons

I admit there is still much about the software that I do not know, which can be frustrating at times. I am actively working on expanding my knowledge.

A good option to manage project cost data and reporting
Pros

PRISM provides a comprehensive set of functionalities for managing costs, progress, and changes in almost any project. Standard reports are clear, and data can be summarized and grouped for better presentation. Data analysis for forecasts is simpler compared to using spreadsheets, and the customer service is top-notch.

Cons

Despite satisfactory customer experience, we encounter software glitches in certain views and during reports. Improved user manuals for complex functionalities would be beneficial. Some issues have lingered without effective responses from the development team.

PRISM G2's database is comprehensive and meets our needs
Pros

The ability to bulk update data via Excel is incredibly powerful. I also appreciate the flexible coding structures and user-defined fields, which allow for tracking additional data. These features have fulfilled all our project cost reporting requirements across various business units, aided by linking our Enterprise Analytics tool, Spotfire, to PRISM G2.

Cons

In my opinion, PRISM should introduce a web interface for managing changes, with distribution and review/approval processes via email and web links. Additionally, while the reports are flexible with coding structures, they appear outdated and static. We've replaced many PRISM reports with Spotfire dashboards for their interactivity and flexibility.

PRISM G2 has been an integral part of our PC tool box helping to deliver 6+B of transit expansion
Pros

ARES has incorporated necessary functionalities to assist project teams in delivering projects on time and within budget. The system is adaptable to different project delivery scenarios and works well for contractors and large program conditions alike.

Cons

As a long-time user of PRISM PPM, adjusting to its "look" and "feel" took some time, but it's all good now. Data migration from the old system was smooth, and minor bugs encountered during early G2 version releases were resolved, which is typical of any software rollout.

I have had experience with the PRISM software products since 1996, my level is expert.
Pros

PRISM is ready to go from Day 1 you can load data and start configuring immediately. I have used it across various industries, and it has always met my program's/projects' needs. The ARES team addresses any gaps promptly, and the ROI is quick due to lower implementation and training costs compared to other tools.

Cons

On-screen analytics could be enhanced; currently, all analytics run through reports or the dashboard system. While service pack improvements have been slow in the past, it seems to be improving. We have managed most issues with simple workarounds.

Great cost control software with instant budget and schedule integration
Pros

One of the best things about G2 is its immediate usability. It offers enough structure to start using it right away but also allows for customization to meet various business needs. It can manage projects ranging from small to large budgets effectively. Integration with SAP is quick, and obtaining forecasts is easy. The system provides various reporting options and allows for easy processing of accruals.

Cons

Although there is a good variety of standard reports available, mastering the report writer requires some time investment.

80's/90's Graphics
Pros

Utilizing Excel for updates via imports and exports is convenient. The system offers a wide range of canned reports and processes, including change control and trends tracking.

Cons

Some of the canned reports have a dated style from the 80s/90s and can't be modified. It is not possible to copy an existing report to create a modified version. Executive summary reports do not format correctly, and there are errors in S-Curve/Histogram progress. Technical support is not consistently reliable and the dashboard is not included, which is a drawback.
