Pros

overall I am quite satisfied, though a few persistent bugs still need to be fixed.

Cons

This is the same software Boston Children's Hospital uses for its patient portal. Whenever a message appears there, I get a notification which I find irritating.

Very user friendly with instant updates

Pros

Epic is very user friendly. It gives instant updates to patients and providers and is an excellent tool for tracking patient care.

Cons

When there is a technical issue, it can create problems for patients and staff by disrupting medication information and delaying procedures and discharges.

Comprehensive outpatient and inpatient records

Pros

It offers a comprehensive electronic medical record system that effortlessly brings together all outpatient and inpatient records for my patients.

Cons

What I dislike most about it is how difficult it is to implement changes and technical builds. Both clinical and technical workflows require a significant amount of time.

excellent customer support

Pros

I am a big fan of how user friendly it is and I love that it connects with many websites and systems. It is the most widely used EMR I have come across, offers excellent customer support and makes billing payers much easier.

Cons

Well I dont feel it's suitable for every healthcare provider and I believe it lacks the ability to submit OASIS assessments directly.

great for continuity of care

Pros

One thing I have noticed that it preserves continuity of care for patients who receive services across different health systems. Plus having all their records on a single platform helps me deliver consistently better care.

Cons

Occasionally there is specific data I wish I could tweak in my personal workspace to make searching for patient details quicker and more easy.

Impressive range of features and capabilities

Pros

To be honest I am impressed by the range of features as it helps me accomplish so much. Between quoting, billing, certificates, lead management and more, there is a lot I can do.

Cons

For my practice, Epic provides a great platform for notes, billing and scheduling. So yes I recommend it for daily workflows.

Cons

I am frustrated with how the software handles patient forms and the limited options for customizing them. Plus it could easily improve in some other areas too.

Built-in support and tiered pricing!

Pros

With the system, I can respond to patient concerns, document charts and message coworkers. It also includes built?in support and tiered pricing so I can find an option that fits my budget. I can even personalize features to suit my workflow and it even handles billing internally.

Cons

I often find it overwhelming as there are too many clicks and multiple places to access the same functions. The interface feels cluttered with busy screens, too many colors and excessive screenshots, making navigation harder than it should be.

Neatly organized clinical information

Pros

I like how neatly the clinical information is organized. Plus notes and records are sorted by category, so I can pull up what I need much more quickly.

Cons

There are not any major downsides but occasionally the login feels slow because it always sends codes to my phone. It is secure but the two?step process can be difficult.

Helpful for documentation but often difficult

Pros

Using an electronic medical records system was really helpful when patient charts or other information went missing and it made documenting visits and notes much easier.

Cons

What bothered me was how often it was difficult to track down specific patient information. Even more annoying, the system would go down several times a week until most of the initial kinks were worked out.

easy to use with great tutorials

Pros

The interface is easy to use, the tutorial videos are great and I love how we sign off procedures. Single sign?in also makes everything smoother.

Cons

Widely used for easy data exchange

Pros

Epic is used by so many healthcare organizations across the U.S which makes sharing and exchanging patient data between facilities much easier.

Cons

MyChart has a lot going on and can feel overwhelming at first. The learning curve was also steep as it took me a couple of months to get comfortable navigating everything consistently.

easy to find medical information

Pros

Finding medical information for my job is pretty easy. Also I can quickly search and locate records. Diagnoses are clearly documented and provider notes are detailed which helps clear up misunderstandings.

Cons

simple access to complete charts

Pros

I liked how simple it was to access a patient's complete chart whenever needed and to send their records without hassle.

Cons

The worst part was when the site or my internet went down, those outages seriously disrupted my work and made tasks much harder.

Efficient EMR system

Pros

The support across all platforms and departments is super smooth. It's really easy to access patient records, which makes life simpler for providers. It also has a built-in communication platform that helps reduce unnecessary use of hospital resources, like ordering tests more than once for a patient.

Cons

Without proper training, Epic can be really tough to learn if you're not familiar with the technology. There's a lot to handle, like customizations, training modules, security features that are often locked by supervisors.

Pros

Epic is really efficient and simple to use. I can easily find what I need, especially when I'm looking up patient charts.

Cons

I really don't like how hard it is to get to a patient's information. I get that it's for security reasons, but I wish there was a faster way to search for a patient and pull up their info quickly.

Easy to understand

Pros

I love how easy Epic is to understand. I got the hang of it really quickly, and everything just made sense. It's also great for communicating with others and doing quick documentation. The dot phrases are a game changer.

Cons

It would be nice if there were specific versions tailored for different professions. I'm not sure if that's possible but there's a lot of stuff that doesn't apply to me, and it just makes the screen cluttered and confusing.

What I really like about Epic is that I can customize my DAR report and my login screen and background making it more personal.

Cons

My least favorite thing about Epic is that when you scan something into the media, you can't just delete it right away. You have to "mark it for chart correction" first.

Lots of options

Pros

The charts load fully, and I can check vitals, meds, and labs without any hassle. Messaging the team or sending orders is quick and doesn't take a ton of steps.

Cons

Logging in feels like a maze, and the pages take forever to load. Searching past records is just scrolling, clicking, and more clicking. A bit too time-taking for my liking.
